What are the pros and cons of the Maule Tricycle 235 vs. Maule Tricycle 260? Thanks.

More HP is a good thing in most cases. You lose another 31 lbs of useful load with the MT-7-260 but it climbs a lot faster (1650 vs. 1500 fpm). Otherwise, it's the same as the MT-7-235 except more expensive.

Can anyone with an MT-235 or -260 can post a description of how they are equipped and their empty weight and cg?

That would allow a comparison between the two running sample W&B for the expected uses.

As far as performance, get a ride in a 260. Do a takeoff then go back and do another at 90% power see if it is a life changing difference.

Personally, I love the 235. Certainly wouldn’t pass up a deal on a 260 though. Decent performance good load carrying. M5 in my case, so not a valid example for this comparison.

Looks like I may be purchasing a MT 260. It is in Virginia at KHLX. Can anyone recommend a good shop for a pre buy in this area? Any other Maule owners in this area? Thanks.

I’m 104 NM WSW of there at KGCY or more relevant currently, 2:30 drive. My airplane is out of town still for engine and prop swap and some other upgrades.
