I have had a couple of instances [scares] where I was low and slow and heavy. Both departing and landing on 600 to 700 foot strips in windy situations,where I did not have as much control of the plane as I would have liked. I avoid those problems now by either not going or lightening load in plane. 10 foot flap, 54 inch aileron, M-6. I have also heard there are some factory looong wing M-6s out there.

My M-6, with droop-tip wings, has 120” flaps and 51” ailerons. Just measured it this morning to confirm.

These numbers were taken from the options available today for a new Maule.

My M7-235 has the 33'8" wing with 126" flap and 53" aileron
