M-5 vs. M-7 performance?

I am curious about the STOL performance comparison between the shorter wing M-5 and the longer winged M-6/M-7. If anyone has the numbers, breakdown between 180 and 235 would be even more beneficial.

Thanks

Mine's an MX-7-180. Liftoff at 2000 lbs with full mains, pilot and standard baggage is around 550 feet at 1300 MSL. Landing is about the same. Here's a link to a performance chart that I made up for my airplane: https://www.maulepilot.com/mauleperformance.pdf. Mine has the shorter 30'10" wing like the M5.

The M7 is around 200 lbs heavier on empty weight but 235 hp vs. 180. Takeoff at 2200 lbs is about the same as my MX-7-180 at 2000 lbs. The biggest difference in takeoff occurs during climb out, especially at higher density altitude. I might get 800 fpm while a M7 gets 1000 fpm. When both aircraft are loaded to max gross, 2500 lbs, mine might require 800 ft for takeoff and climb about 650 fpm where a M7 might takeoff around 600 ft and climb at 1000 fpm.

Landing short is more a function of pilot skill and weight. I normally plan for 500 feet on landing but I've done it in 300 on short airstrips. It takes longer to stop with a heavier airplane. You have to be a bit more careful on the brakes with a 6-cylinder engine taildragger due to the additional mass in the nose that could cause a nose-over.

Is there such thing as a long wing with a TIO 180hp?

Seems that would solve the higher elevation and DA issues.

Utah, there is one M5-235 that is aftermarket turbocharged.
There were two M4-220 manual waste gate turbocharged by the factory.
There were 10 M5-210TC Lyc TO360 turbocharged by factory.
All those are droop tip 30'10" wingspan.
There may be a couple other one off turbocharged around somewhere.
