Tom, there are different wings for MX7 with same span to tip as M5, but more lifting surface than M5 as the droop tips delta outwards aways. MX7 also has ten more gallons of fuel.

Float pilot, for build efficiency in 1993 all models went under the same wing of 32'11", the universal wing which is what the 1986 onward M6 had.

I have flown an M-6 on floats,,, it was pretty snappy off the water,

According to the TCDS the MX7-235 is the "Same as M-6-235 except for wings, flaps, aileron and wing tip"
