New Maule Owner

Post by HF »

Recently purchased my first Maule. Have flown a lot of tailwheel time in everything from Cubs to DC-3's, but purchased a MT7-235 as it fits the mission I wanted from it. Have never flown a Maule prior to this airplane! After flying it a bit with the previous owner and having a fresh annual completed, I flew it home. 4,665 mile cross country in 36.6 hours... Yep, bought in the United Kingdom and crossed the North Atlantic to Wisconsin. Everything worked perfect on the airplane and I was very happy with the TAS at 10,000-12,000 feet. Look forward to chatting on this site and connecting with some Maule pilots as there are few of us in Northern Wisconsin.

You would be inclined to accept Chris Erasmus' invitation to a Maule Fly-in in South Africa. Congrats and welcome to the clan!

That is awesome!! When I first read your post after seeing you listed Wisco I thought it was a typo, no place in the US is that far from God's country....then I saw you crossed over the pond. The cranberry bogs and dense forest up north here should give you no worries!
Welcome aboard.
Where are you located? We are based out of KEAU and 53WI is our brand new grass strip.

Lets get together and fly!!

Thank you for the welcomes. I hangar at Lake Elmo, MN (21D), but live on the Wisconsin side of the river. I will post a photo as soon as I get an opportunity and would be happy to share the Atlantic trip experience with anyone contemplating such a trip.
