M7 cabin vs M6
How much 'larger' is the M7 cabin vs the M6? Is it just longer?
Thanks

M6 is same as MX7 and M5.... I think Fuselage is around 10" shorter then M7, all other dimensions the same. Jeremy can probably give you exact length difference, but really inconsequential...

Thats what I gathered and not really any more 'room' inside. I knew the M5, M6 and Mx7 have some size.aero101 wrote:M6 is same as MX7 and M5.... Looking on Jeremy's site - the fuselages are indeed same length.. 4inches in cabin could be nice since we will be taking bikes inside.. but not enough to limit my search to just an M7. M6 or M7 with a 235 it is. Now to have patience for the right one to come forsale.Maulehigh wrote:All fuselage lengths are the same. It's only the interior length of the cabin and fuselage height that differs. Cabin length of the M7 is approx 4" longer, I think.
The old Maule 2013 brochure used to have a diagram showing the difference.

M7 cabin is 5.5" longer and 3.5" higher in rear than M5, M6, MX7, MXT7, M8.
This actually adds a few cubic feet.
Allows full length sleeping with co-pilot seat removed or flipped forward.
Allows two 55 gal barrels standing upright.
Has a slightly higher rear door opening.
It does make a difference with small weight penalty, however some M7 have the longer wing for more lift.

I have wondered about getting a couple of bikes in the back of an M4. How big of a bike can I squeeze in there? It would be handy to fly to the beach pull out the bike and pedal to the shore. There are a couple of places we go now ( by car) where the airport is close enough for that. It saves the cost of a rental car, and provides a little exercise.

I have 2 three speed folding bikes that both fit in the baggage compartment behind the rear seat. I believe our fuselages are the same.
They are little bikes with 16" wheels. They are fun and effective ground transportation. Not fast, and I feel like a giant on a minibike, but very effective and enjoyable.

If I recall correctly the rear floorboard is 58" for the M7 series and 53" for the others.maules.com wrote:M7 cabin is 5.5" longer and 3.5" higher in rear than M5, M6, MX7, MXT7, M8.

MD that answers the question pretty well I was thinking maybe with the front wheels removed a full size bike might fit. But not sure how I would secure them in place don't want to do any damage to the side panels or seats. My wife and I have a couple of mountain bikes we ride around the farm and had hoped to use those but doesn't seem to likely.

I'm sure it can be done, and there are some really good folding mountain bikes, but they are pricey.
The little bikes I use are not in the least bit fancy but they sure are fun and small and in their bags cant hurt anything.
Sometimes I enjoy peddling around the destination almost as much as the flight.
