had the welder to come and check the fuselage to make modifications for the 5th seat and metal stringers.

regarding the metal stringers the maule papers are quite vague, first you remove the wood stringers frame, then you replace them with the small brakets which come taped to the new stringers by welding them to the fuselage Lastly you weld the metal stringers to their brakets?

Any one good hearted enough to share a couple of pictures?

Also I wanted to get the flap pulleys out of the way, so I could fit the extended cargo. any particular instructions on how to locate the new pulleys one station rearward? in the original pulleys location, do you need to weld one of those O passingthrough stuff for the cables?

Leave the original top rear pulley in place to carry the cable from bridle connection back to the new position.
You will have to stress engineer the rear position because that crossbrace was not designed for that flap load, especially so if using the updated torquetube setup and longer flaps increased to 48 deg from the original 35 and then 40 degrees.
If using the torquetubes you need to reposition one of the airframe tubes above the rear passenger door just aft of the door post.
Also need to weld in the sprocket bracket.
You will have to also fabricate seatbelt mounts for all seats shoulder harness mounting, both at top and beneath floor for rear seat.

You're probably looking for a pic of a full size battery but just in case I found this pic that someone shared with me a few years ago of an Odyssey battery install under the right front seat. I would highly recommend it. Also, I apologies for not giving credit to the original sender of the pic. but at my age....

my EAA inspector the other day came for the first visit and it all went very smooth.
he pointed that he's also following another maule M5 like mine going experimental and the owner applied an STC to enlarge the rudder. I look back and forth on the male modification list, and the only thing that come close to that is #27 as per drawing 3212-F 30.
obviously this is not listed on my part manual, and before I even ask to Bryan.
Has anyone done it? is it worth? does it improve rudder control at low speed?
is it a complex thing to achieve?

A longer chord rudder was used when the longer span wings were adopted from the later model M6 onward, the later MX7s and the M7.
If this experimental M5 is utilising longer wing span it will need the longer chord rudder.
