Is that the same one that we saw in November at the Homecoming?

Are they planning on selling them now or is this just an experiment?

Yes

Plans look to be to finish the certification.

I haven't seen much from them in a while but the DeltaHawk engine was in the 200 hp range seems like it might also be a viable option ? Jet-A/ diesel would solve a lot of problems flying in remote area's and with the lead.

I hate to see Maule pursue that heavy SMA pig when the deltaHawk is sooo much lighter and more compact! I know dh still isn't certified and all, but it seems a much better option. Maybe dh is far further from certification than they let on to be, but one more manufacturer pushing them may speed the process. With all the technology changes with materials etc. that allow light weight diesels, I'm sure it will be the av-fuel of the future.

I dare you to put a bumper stick on the tail that says "Got Smoke?".

Don't forget to change the tail number!

lol, I would imagine that if there are any mods that would effect the engine, the number would be reverted back to a reserved number for research and development.

I have not had the chance to fly it but I did taxi it. It is different :P

When I flew it, it was fast and quite fuel efficient, but in its early iteration the rpm was tied to single lever fuel control and because of this, one could not hold prop in fine pitch, thus takeoff and vx climb were disappointing.
I understand a later version has a changed system .

Does it make any boost at sea level?

It is 305 cubic inch and boosted hp at sealevel was 230 which diminished to 200 hp at 5,000 msl.
It then held 200hp from 5,000 to 12,000 then there is a straight line power production loss to 25,000 where it produces 130hp.
A 235hp non turbo Lyc IO540 is aprx 195hp at 5,000 ft.
2200 rpm was the fixed rpm.
