Minnesota Maule Instruction needed

Post by DChuck »

Looking to purchase a Maule. I am in Minnesota and would like to connect with owners in the area. I need to find an instructor that can check me out in the plane. Hope to have it here in next few weeks. Thanks. Chuck

DChuck, I see that there are no responses here, were you able to find anyone? I am in the same situation, located down at KAEL.
Thanks

Just saw this post and wanted to chip in- I purchased my M7-235C on big tires... needless to say it was a handful for me at the beginning! I used a gentleman out of Florida to get me a maule checkout. He travels to your location and will take whatever time you need to get comfortable! He was very fair on price and definitely earned his pay by keeping me and my airplane safe!
His name is Scott Oglesby - you can reach him at (863) 581-9306
Just tell him Justin sent you.

Rick Geiger is in Cut Bank Montana and does Maule instruction. I’m aware that Minnesota isn’t exactly close to Montana but he’s one of the best Maule instructors you’ll find anywhere in the US. Just an option for you if you don’t mind traveling.

Thanks for the suggestions! I have looked the Montana by Air website and videos and he's a definite authority that I would like to learn from. It would just be working out the logistics. I will check into the gentleman in Florida as well.

Thanks again!

Paul Anderson at KEAU would be a good choice.

I was fortunate enough to have weather, schedules, flights, and all else align to be able to travel to Cut Bank last week for 4 days of training with Rick Geiger. If you are needing/wanting training in a Maule, this is the place to go and Rick is the guy to fly with. His knowledge of this airframe and how to fly it are incredible, and he is one outstanding teacher. As well the area is unique and beautiful and worth the stop if you were traveling that way.

I definitely intend to fly my plane out when I get the opportunity.
