Looking for a Maule CFI in South Texas

Hi,
I recently purchased a 1998 MXT-7-180A and have about 20 hours in it. I am still landing it like a Mooney at 70MPH and I float.
I was looking for a good, patient CFI that can help me get low and slow. I am in Victoria, Texas but can fly to meet the CFI if it's within an hour or so.
I spoke with Jeremy and he told me to post the question.

Thank you in advance,
John Nichols

Check with Tres Clinton. He doesn’t have a bunch of Maule time but he is capable. Otherwise if you wanted to come up to DFW area I would be happy to fly with you as a safety pilot (Not a CFI and certainly just for fun sake).

Try Tim Fitch, TAF Aerial Inspection, in Beeville, TX.
He has a pipeline patrol company that flies Maules, both MXT7-180’s and M7-235’s.
He can maybe steer you in the direction of a CFI who can help you. He probably has a CFI working for him.
Those guys have tons of hours in nosewheel Maules.

Thanks everyone that has reached out to me. Lots and lots of Maule experience out there. Incredible group on the forum.

I’ve talked on the phone with some local guys: Tim Keith and Butch Card, and then Mike Crosby from New Mexico. I am sure I will fly with some of these local guys soon. Lots of good advice.

Thank you all again. I can’t say enough good about this group.
