Right now I’m flying from my clubs home base in EDTE
Maule is still in the Workshop
Give me a note when you will be here and I can arrange PPR for EDTE and pick you up

Hi there , me and 431X are still located in EDSB , anyone interested in meeting ? Have Hangar space usually for overnighting safely , I would also come to see France or Scotland ,Denmark for some off field training .

Does anyone plan to visit AERO?

Does anyone need parts from US?

Hi 'Mauled'

We hope to visit Aero at Friedrichshafen this April. Possibly base at EDTZ Konstanz and take the ferry across each day. Then go onto EDMK Kempten Durach before flying home.

Just looked at EDSB Karlsruhe and it would make a good entry/exit point for Germany. Is there Zoll and Immigration available?

Hello onfinal

Yes definitely CUST available , (and a friendly German landing and approach fee collector) . Hours are 6amto 10pm local time, attn sundays/ HOL until8pm
Are you planning to immigrate due to Brexit?

Is UK considered extra EU already or extraterrestrial even or do you have a grace period this year?

In any case welcome I would join to go to Aero

The last few years I directly flew into Friedrichshafen for the AERO. It’s only marginally more flight prep than any other flight into controlled airspace.
A lot of fun, very convenient and cool.
This time unfortunately, I will be on business travel that week and will only be able to attend on Saturday 4th of April :?
Atc slots are pretty much limited, so I might end up driving.
However, I hope to see some of you folks there.

From this forum we might have

Stefan from Munich
Pretty mauled from EDSB
Ziga from LDSB
Njacko from Scotland
Onfinal from UK

How about Chris_01? From Egelsbach?
no objections against “training wheel folksâ€￾ from my end
And myself

Hah! almost better than Vans Air Force

ha - you got me with the training wheel... ;-D
Being too long without an a/c and then finally finding something close to what I really wanted, I had to make a compromise - but I'm very happy with it!!

Anyway - not sure whether I'd make it to AERO this year. Either Friday or Saturday, both days not sure yet. All this of course depending on availability of a good PPR slot.

Nevertheless, I'd like to meet you guys at some point. Let's see if it works out in April.

Hi 'Mauled',

Thank you for the information on EDSB.

After Zoller's remarks, we will plan to stop at EDSB, then fly to Friedrichshafen. This depends on getting a good PPR slot and some good weather!

Currently, we have so much rain here, I'm thinking of putting floats on my Maule.

Info for those who are interested in flying to AERO:

https://aero-ppr.bodensee-airport.eu/lo ... start.aspx
Is the link to the slot and PPR page
They did not yet put it up on the EDTY webpage
There you need to register and from March 18 on you can “buy “ a slot. ( I think It was 35€ or so last time )
PIC of the registered Aircraft will get one day free entrance in return.
There will be an AIP supplement with frequency changes and such as well.
Unfortunately the slots are very limited and you have to be quick. The upside of this is quite a relaxed approach to a busy air show airport.

Maybe we should start a new thread on this

Maules to Aero

Post by pretty mauled »

Hi Zoller, hi onfinal when do you plan to go then or is that dependent on the left over slots?
We might file a group flightplan, weather permitting
Slots are available 18MAR 0900 loc.

Chris , njacko and Stefan will you also come ? And if so , via EDSB?
Does everyone try his luck getting the slot . Or shall we try to arrive as a Maule „mass arrival“ on Friday. What would be the most convenient time for everyone , I know flying in from Scotland maybe 5 -6 h depending on the route

The IWA trade fair in Nuremberg has been cancelled (or postponed?), so I’m staying at home for now.

Hopefully the public health concerns in the region will diminish sufficiently for the Aero show to go ahead as planned. I guess we’ll have a better idea by 18 March, when the landing slot bookings open for EDNY.

A 6-ship Maule flight into AERO from EDSB would be awesome - if ATC will allow it.

It has been announced that the AERO Friedrichshafen will be delayed until further notice due to the virus.
Here the note from AOPA Germany (in German...): https://www.aero-expo.com/aero-de/news/ ... e-AERO.php

Nonetheless, we shouldn’t abandon the plan to fly somewhere at some point to meet up for a Maule Europe fly in - including UK
