Forum Posting troubles and upgrade

Post by Christine »

Hi Maule forum users,
I heard that some of you have trouble posting messages.... and the host has charged me 300$ extra support fine because our phpBB version is outdated.
I had been stalling going through the upgrade as I am very worried that we run into troubles moving the data to the new updated version.
Within the next few days I contact Andy who had offered to get involved in the transition and we will make a plan...
Please bear with me and retry any unsuccessful post attempts until then.
We will keep you posted as to when we will do a transition.
Prelim steps are to run a test version first while leaving the old system as a backup functioning. I will send you links on where to post and we will leave this board up for reading only.

Christine,

If you have a Paypal account or some form of receiving support from the forum users, let us know. There is no point in you taking on those costs without some assistance. I'd be more than happy to contribute to "the cause". I may be alone in that offer but I doubt it.

Dttio there is too much info on this site to let it slip away and I think all of the users will be glad to chip in.

I hope there is a way to make an independent backup copy of the raw content of this site to ensure it doesn't get lost in the event it cannot be migrated over. I'd hate to see anything happen to all the invaluable knowledge shared here.

I missed the first round of "support" but headed to PayPal now, thanks!

Thank you all.
Yes, I will make a backup to my computer. I plan to leave to leave the old forum up until we can feel confident that the new phpBB works.... I just need to have a few days off in a row and some courage in order to attack this
