Yesterday the wife and I went to lunch at the Red Barn Cafe at KSLR.

Upon returning to the Maule I noticed that it was not running well. When I tried to shut it down by pulling the mixture the engine did not stop. I had to to turn of the ignition switch. Upon removing the cowling, I verified that the mixture cable was properly fully pulling the lever on the carburetor to the stop. So I had to leave the Maule at KSLR.

Fortuneately AMERICAN LEGEND AIRCRAFT CO is on the field at KSLR. They have pulled the carburetor and sent it to a carb repair shop.

Gonna miss my Maule for a few weeks, probably 2-4 weeks.....

Since the Maule will be there for a while, I have asked Legend to take care of a few squawks that I was going to have taken care of at the next annual.

How did it turn out? What was the problem?

On December 10th I picked up the Maule. The carb shop had rebuilt or repaired the carb, and Legend had reinstalled it and set the idle RPM at 700. It has been running fine since. Legend also re-glued some fabric seams that had loosened and painted the seams. I've only put 12 hours on it since then, partially due to weather...
