Thanks, this was a long time coming.

I have made these approaches many times since I first got the property and built the camp. I have many hours of video, with many, many passes trying to figure out if I could do it. I have also walked this path on our fishing trips, hell I've even walked it under a Whisky Moon.

I also spent many hours at my local airport making sure I could land regularly in 250' and hit my spot every time. The POV cameras with the GPS overlay are a great asset to analyze post flight.

The day I landed, the conditions were the best I had ever seen.
This is in West Texas along the Rio Grande, so temperature and wind are not very friendly. On this day the wind was slight and out of the correct direction and it was a cold dense day. I was alone and the fuel in the Maule was light. Even then I made several passes to verify I could do it.

It has been the most excellent adventure.

Sounds like you did it properly: lots of research, lots of practice, and using numbers to gauge performance, vs. “feels good”. As someone once said: “You can’t manage what you don’t measure”.

A good example of the MT Prop working as a brake. You can hear the whistle as the MT quits pulling.
Have to clear the deer from the runway, the reason I have an MT in the first place.

How much headwind did you have landing in the field? Looks like you touched down at 30 mph over the ground, thats pretty slow!

I probably had 10 mph on this day.

I'll look back at my inside camera and see if I can see a good airspeed and post.

Nicely done.
One of my Dads A&P customers growing up was an AG pilot who operated Pawnees. His strip length varied depending on the need for annual soybean acreage. The 1000" grass ending onto his 600' concrete loading apron/takeoff run which normally continued onto a narrow dirt/turf field edge for another 1000'.
He cultivated the "strip" one summer and I delivered my Dad and his tools in and out of the concrete apron twice a week in our 57' C182. I pulled a few soybeans out of the landing gear that season!
I practiced similarly to you and have recently repeated a feat on a friends 750' access road in my bone stock M5-180. No worries.

Pretty easy when you don't have 50' to 75' trees to deal with at each end. You can come in LOW and slow and just set her down. When you have trees to deal with its a whole different ball game and it takes a lot more experience. Look up on you tube Maules landing on river bars.

Yeah, I'm really lucky in that I get to practice over a transmission line and local power lines on every landing at my home strip. 2F0
