Camping trip at 0NY0 Bennett's Airport

Post by gdflys »

Located in the Adirondacks, this little gem of an airpark community is amazing. Located close to Gore Mountain, the area is chock full of outdoor playgrounds. We hiked to the Gore Summit via the Schaefer Trailhead. Pete Burns, one of the tenants, was an amazing host and also runs Beaver Brook Outfitters. They offer multi day rafting, canoeing, kayaking trips and support. The temps dropped down below freezing so we got some hard frosts but the days were clear and in the mid 50s. My daughter Kristina tagged along and put her amazing skills to work capturing the beautiful night skies devoid of the usual light pollution we have closer to NYC. Looking forward to visiting again next year.

Very nice pics!

Looks like you have completely plexi rear door and a full height window on the side. Thats cool.

Yes full plexi top to bottom front to back. The views are amazing but we still end up taking the back doors off for air to air video/photo missions like this one the following day of our host for the trip. It gives my daughter a wider field of view and gets rid of the bars, door frames and reflections

Great photos! I love the ones with the stars in the background. I'm considering a flight to the Adironacks next Fall. Some friends own a cabin near Bennett Mem (KGFL). I've flown to Basin Harbor Club (B06) on Lake Champlain and it was beautiful.
