These were recorded on 10/09. The first one with a GoPro and the second with a Garmin VIRB.
The first is Geddis Canyon in Terrell County. The spring always flows, but only a small amount is above the creek Gravel. With all the rain we have, the old springs are recharged, with enough flow to be able to see the flow all the way to the Pecos River.

The second is on Independence Creek in Terrell County. It has a strong normal flow, but this is 4 or 5 times the flow. This water was a direct result of rains up the canyon.

Nice videos! Be careful out there! I saw a utility pole at the edge of the creek in the first video about half way through... Wires are really hard to see.
Always nice to see water in the desert. I have spent a lot of time climbing/caving/hiking in that part of the state. Seeing those cedars made my nose run! More than one reason I moved out of Texas but allergies to those things was pretty high on the list! I do miss Big Bend NP, Davis Mtns SP, and the Guadalupe Mtn NP sometimes.
Does the DEA or Border Patrol ever harass you for flying around there?

You have to make up your mind about growing up and becoming a pilot. You can't do both!

The wires are a real problem, this is oil field country and they cover the area like spider webs. Anytime I have anybody with me it is a major flight topic. As you know they are alot easier to see if you are low enough to get tangled.
I fly the Pecos and Rio Grande Rivers on a regular basis, multiple times a month, but they have never harassed me at all. I will land at Dryden, 6R6 and purchase fuel on many flights. Sometimes they will be there getting fuel also, they always ask how the flight is going, and if we've seen anybody, not much else.

We had about 10 days of rain in NM while we were there doing some forest work (great time to burn slash piles); almost couldn't get back out. Returned from NM on 10-10 and stopped at E11 for fuel. We skirted east of Midland and was impressed by the rainfall effects in the Permian Basin; there were places that looked like huge lakes with oilfield pumps, transfer tanks, compressor stations, etc were the only things sticking up above the water level. Homes and other equipment, too. Would have got video but was saving memory and battery for farther east as the news had reported a lot of flooding in the Edwards Plateau. Turns out the Basin looked a lot worse. It stopped raining just long enough to get the Maule back home to the hangar at the ranch. It has been raining ever since. We've had virtually non stop rain since the beginning of September; over 14" so far.
I envy your world of sand (we're in black gumbo clay which has liquified with all this rain). Enjoyed the video on this rainy day.
