Flew from OKC to Beaumont, KS, with another ATC friend for lunch on Sunday. I saw a couple pictures of airplanes taxiing down Main St to get to the hotel after landing and figured I had to go check it out. Sure enough, just follow the road right into town and park the airplane across the street from the Beaumont Hotel. I got a bacon cheeseburger and fries and thought they were excellent.

Made up a little video of the area from under the wing. Got sidetracked and didn't set up the interior camera or audio recorder, and I wish I would have!

Yep that's pretty cool, and apparently no body gets bent out of shape about taxiing the airplane on Main Street we really do need more places like that

You have your camera mounted to your landing gear? I've been having good luck with attaching it to the wing tie-downs using parts I found on here posted by Andy.

I tried several strut mounts on my M5 and wasn't satisfied at high RPM. It didn't seem to matter where on the strut I mounted the camera I got severe jello, and I couldn't find any where else under the wing to mount.

Mounting it to the frame inside the cockpit stabilized the image, but I didn't care for the resulting video shot through the windscreen.

Ultimately, mounting the camera on the tie down ring stopped the jello and gave a clear video, but the ring is so far out on the wing that to show any of the airframe for reference created an sideward looking video I wasn't crazy about.

Finally I settled on a tie down mount from FlightFlix (https://flightflix.net/product/rs-slim- ... own-mount/), but I altered it and mounted it to one of the the seaplane lift rings. I also drilled a hole in the threaded clamp so I could put a cotter pin there to ensure the nut didn't come off. I like the angle and the view over the cowl.

One thing I really like about the Virb over the GoPro (at least the model I have) its that you can configure the Virb to power up when ship power is turned on. It stays powered up until you turn ship power off. Using the Virb app on an iPad makes it easy to turn recording on/off. The Virb can also be controlled (but not monitored) from the Garmin 660.

I flew down to the Western Antique Aeroplane and Automobile Museum a couple of weeks ago. It was their "second Saturday" event. The 2nd Sat of each month they pull some planes and some cars out of the museum and give rides. It was quite a fine day. WAAAM is located in Hood River, Oregon, on the Columbia River. You can land at 4S2 amd walk to the museum from transient parking.
