Orcas Island Flyin

Post by Flyhound »

I flew up to Orcas Island Friday for a bit of their fly-in. Saw lots of cool planes, met some nice people, ate some good food and saw some good scenery. That's what flying's all about for me!

An evening flight home. It looks peaceful but there was a strong west wind blowing and it was turbulent as heck.

All-in-all it was a very good day to be a pilot, and an even better day to be flying a Maule with windows everywhere!

Thanks for the trip report. We were unable to attend with scheduling conflicts.
Looks like the event is still going strong.
What are were they asking for the Brussard?
Going for a 8:00a breakfast flight somewhere tomorrow. Departing from S43/ Harvey field if anybody is doing the same.

I didn't see a price on the Broussard, but I didn't look very closely. I couldn't afford to maintain or operate it so I just gave it a passing nod. It is a beast of an airplane though! You could haul a spare plane on your longer trips...

Great pics and thanks for the report! The San Juans offer some of the best flying in the country. Weather requires a pilot's full attention over there, especially for a VFR like myself.
