Hi folks,

We had a short break in the clouds on Wednesday morning, so I thought y'all might like a virtual Maule tour some of our wee lochs and hills:

Great splash n go's. Can just see the tires getting wet. Glassy water one was really cool.

Looks like some wonderful flying country out there!!! Be careful out over that glassy water, very hard to judge height... Looks like it'd be good float flying as well, is there a lot of water and are you able to land or is it highly regulated as some areas this side of world?

There are quite a few lochs in this part of Scotland, and many more in the highlands - though nothing like Quebec or BC - or AK, I imagine. Some are charted as water aerodromes, others were used as such in wartime, and everywhere it is a matter of not annoying people. One pass, haul...

There's only one floatplane based locally, an FR172 amphibian. We can use it for training, but it is only just about to emerge from hibernation and annual maintenance.

Beautiful country. Love your strip! I got to land on water with wheels just last weekend. Of course it was quite frozen...

Technically you can't land on water. You alight. :D
