Flew down to a friends private strip just east of Grand Rapids Michigan (Gerald R Ford International ) this morning.
A little hazy but felt great to be out flying and have the plane running good after one of those two month annuals that
involved pulling three cylinders.
Flying again!

flying again
That does indeed get a person interested in some ski flying for sure. It is sweet flying after an extended down time.
Now that's Funny MM!!

Was short lived
Plane was running good but now have the dreaded Dukes fuel pump leaking badly issue. Pulled that off yesterday. Decisions? It has never been overhauled so has the old vanes. Send in for complet O/H at $1250 or can it be replaced with new Weldon 18000 for $725. If Maulers in Michigan and nearby want to get togther let me know. I am at 24M Wilderness Airpark. 2500' grass runway about 25 miles north of Grand Rapids. Does not take near as much skill to land in snow as it does to take off! I still have so much to learn! litterally every takeoff is different. Snow conditions change all the time.
