I landed there several times this summer while I was rebuilding us-127
Very nice strip
Tuesday I drove by to check on some bulldozers we left over the winter and I looked out there and saw no tracks and wondered if anyone had skis and used it in the winter.
Now I know
Yes its used
And you dont need any dam skis
Cool

One of the problems with wheels in snow is the brakes freeze up, so if you are landing back on pavement afterwards you will need to loosen the wheels up prior to touching down and be ready for a pitch down when the wheels touch.
Have not seen anyone on ski's yet and I would not land or try to takeoff in anything deeper then what that was.

Good habit in snow on wheels to not use brakes at all or only after slowing to walk speed. Use engine power rather then brakes to control taxi speed. I have seen several noses planted with frozen brakes. If frozen bad enough, even hard bouncing a couple times prior to landing doesn't help... Something else to watch out for as it can get ya!!!

OOUuuch!!! That's what I call covering the evidence? Not sure how deep the snow is in that ice field, but most up here are very deep snow, a new approach for soft field landings?
