If possible you really need to make the Maule Roundup in Llano. Russell Armstrong does a fantastic job, and the folks at Llano are truly good people.

Come on down, the flying down the Pecos and Rio Grande are alot of fun. Iraan is still an old school town, everybody knows your shit, but will kill themselves trying to help you. :D

I talked to Russel by phone and Sharon and i plan on attending Llano. I grew up in Marfa so i know about the small city life, it was the same way down there.

Marfa! Spent a fair amount of time there. Usually to/from our yearly New Year's pilgrimage to Big Bend. Cool little place! Do they have power there yet. I heard the whole corner of the state was out last week with no fuel/power or food in the park or Terlingua! Pictures of ice fog in the area and high temps of 8*! Ive been out there when it was in the teens but that is pretty cool for there! Never got to see the Marfa Lights though...

Beautiful scenery - and nice JKU also!
I can't remember if I fired six shots, or only five.....

That drone woudl be really handy to invistigate possible cave entrances in difficult to reach locations....

crbnunit, i grew up in Marfa but do not live there now. I have a lot of friends there still, including the Big Bend area. I didn't hear about the power outage but all the people that live in the area are pretty tough. We ride dual purpose motorcyclesin the Big Bend a few times a year. BTW i met a guy in Terlingua recently that spends the summer in Alaska and runs a bar in Terlingua for the winter. Sounds like a pretty good seasonal swap.

Yea, that is a good trade. I love Big Bend in the winter. We were known to drive the 10hrs from Austin just to hang out in the hot springs for a couple of days. There are still parts of that park I haven't explored. Hard to justify now. There is so much up here I haven't explored!

That river looks so nice and innocent....you'd never guess what it can do to a river boat

We need to get a Maule, a jet boat, and the drone all down there together sometime. Could make out with some pretty sweet footage.
