The story of my Winter Break!

Post by n2020u »

Busy with school again, but finally have time to post pictures taken during my Christmas vacation.

Started off great! The airplane had been sitting for several months (waiting for new mufflers & headers). After a quick prime of the oil system, she was up and running smoothly!

Here's the first run photo; taken by my younger brother. I like the prop blur he captured. Our McCauley C201 has the white and red tips.

I'll keep posting more pictures as I get time on this thread; go ahead and respond if you like!

I think I have time for one more photo/post....

Decided to take the Maule on a "break-in" flight (need to get those compressions up again) over Pinnacles national monument. Went up to 6,500 feet and it purred all the way.

Thankfully, the compressions at the end of the flight were no less than 74!

Phew!

Now time for some airplane camping. Pismo beach, here I come!

Step One: Pack the airplane full of crap; it will fit; it's a Maule!

Step Two: Go fly! That's the best part!

More to come...

You have some awesome pictures there Garrett!

It's obvious that flying is in your veins.

What do you plan to do after college?

Hey MAU MAU,

I have been very fortunate to grow up with a CFI father; We get along very well!

I just recieved my acceptance to Stanford for graduate school! I will be doing that full time starting next fall. I'll be starting an internship as a civil engineer this coming summer!

Life is busy!

Take care,

Garrett
