Beautiful plane and a heck of a ground speed for what appears to be a MXT7 180-A with a F/P Sensinich.

Tailwind?

Some nice scenery.

I don't know what to make of that muddy delta, if that's what it is.
I am an AME in Richland, Washington. Please call for an appointment!

Yeap, was about a 30kt tailwind.

The muddy Delta was the lake/waist from the.......nuclear power plant?....in the photos. They had bulldozers also covering it with the darker dirt.

Wanted to hose it down but 40deg temps and winds prevented a clean ride home.

It might be that big round wheel airbrakes hanging down up front.

I think the factory says it reduces speed by 5 MPH.

It also reduces wingtip repairs, and insurance rates.

We repair just as many tri-gears as taildraggers. They all have to be landed slow. Guys with the nose wheel tend to force it on the ground by trying to land them like as fast as a cessna. Guys with taildraggers wont get the freaking stick....err...ahh...I mean YOKE back (actually in both tri-gear and taildraggers) when they land....Slow the bloody thing down and it lands fine. try a little game, when landing, try as long as you can to NOT let it touch the ground. When there is nothing else to do and the stick is in your gut and you are about to touch down....add 500-1,000 rpm and don't let it touch.......do this as far down the runway as you can and never touch the ground.....then GO AROUND. Learn how to control the airplane instead of the airplane controlling the pilot. Stop flying the things into the ground....they will break every time...well....eventually...lol

I forgot how sensitive the T's might be for a jab here and there
It is ok, if your airplane was built after 1946....it's just an overpriced "spamcan" anyway
