I'll look up that rake. I do "hole patrol" on mine pretty often, I have no idea why even after 10-15 years I still get mystery potholes about 6" to 12" in diameter and two feet deep.

Those mystery holes sound like tree stumps or concrete rubble got put in the fill during construction. Is the problem area in an area that was filled in to bring it up to grade?

Piney woods - most likely they were stumps that I missed when I cleared the land about 20 years ago. You know, it doesn't seem that long ago.......

My strip went in over crop land but I still get little potholes I assume it is from voles or some other burrowing varmint. I took down some trees at one end this last year I'm going to remove those stumps some time. Most where pines we planted 20 years ago but there are a few big oaks mixed in.
I don't think a dozer will be able to push them out so I may need a excavator or maybe a big backhoe. Seems like there is always some else I need for this airplane it's almost as bad as a wife or girlfriend ;-)

You must be talking the simple accounting dictum that relates to purchasing versus renting the asset...

That's the big question in life which Asset to purchase and what to do when it is fully deprecated.

In my opinion when the asset no longer does any of these three things sufficiently then it is fully depreciated and due for replacement - or just move it to the side whilst shopping for a new one.
I can't remember if I fired six shots, or only five.....
