Smoke in the Idaho backcountry

I'm planning on taking Tammy to Johnson Creek early Friday through early Sunday.

I saw on the news this morning about forest fires around the Idaho panhandle. The news was not specific on where. I guess for the East coasters who write the news the West is all the same except for the metro areas of California. Oh well...

Does anyone know about the smoke situation approaching JC from the west? Any advise, tips, strategies I can benefit from?

BTW, if any Maulers or BCP'ers are in JC this weekend please feel free to drop in and have a beer with me in the shade of my yellow wing.

Coors light.

Heavy beer slows my takeoff roll.

Same reason I only date thin women.

Safety first.

OK I got a pic.

I taught Tammy to ride an XR100 this weekend while camping in the Blue Mountains. She did great.

The lovely Miss Tammy and I met Terry (from BCP) and his family at Cavanaugh Bay in Northern Idaho this weekend for a camping trip. Terry, his dad, and I flew our planes (a 182, a 207, and my Maule respectively) out to Sullivan lake for a day trip on Saturday morning. The clouds were building so we kept an eye to the sky for our return trip. It was raining back at our destination, but it was still decent VFR for the flight.

It was great to meet Terry and his family, we are looking forward to more trips together.
