Hi David,
I thought of you when I posted these photo's. I think you need a flying vacation in California :D After seeing Rob's photo's, after I visit Maule Mods (Caldwell, Id.) in May I want to stop by Rob's in Oregon. It really looks breath taking. Are you going to make the johnson Creek flyin?

You should contact Huel Howser (The spelling does not look correct) and do "Califorina from the air"

I had a great time. The weather couldn't have been better. It was a real pleasure to meet Bub, Tom, Craig, Jim, Jerry, Guy, Shawn, the bunch from Chehalis, Wa. I'm embarrassed I can't remember their names now, sorry guys. They know the person who bought that Avid flier from my buddy.

Those bar b q ed shrimp were awesome!! Everyone had dinner but me so I ended up eating most of the shrimp. Oink

The tcraft is Shawn, and the Savannah is Tom.http://picasaweb.google.com/robburson/Reno08

Troutdale to local. Slow flight, Power on and off stalls, landings. My best short was 370 feet, really 426 feet from the threshold.

Rok n roll

I need an editor? The "c" button must not be working correctly or it could be the lose nut behind the steering wheel?

We headed out as a flight of 3 to Moontown for breakfast this past Saturday morning and found ourselves in heaven on earth on the way home. The evening flight was from a few days earlier. I was flying the Maule in the day shots...the evening flight in the Stearman was me flying and my passanger taking the photos...what a great evening for a flight.

well this was a couple weeks ago, but the first spare time i have had to upload a picture......

we flew down to wasilla for groceries, landed at yellowmaule's place, had a good time, and then flew home. this is a view of the alaska range at midnight with a few rain cells still lurking causing the dark areas.

thanks kurt! it was a beautiful flight home.

Here is a video of final approach and landing on my friend's mountain strip near State College Pa. Cool strip! 1200' on top of a mountain.

Nice. That's Karl's field if I'm not mistaken. It's been a good number of years since I've been up to his place.. Like the cabin at the end of the runway. Does he still have the fire tower?

The route

At S33 Madras, Oregon Airshow
The 1st night show I have seen. Pretty darn cool. There was a glider trailing sparklers off the wing tips for 100 feet. Jet cars, and a T6 did a bomb run with BIG! pyrotechnics on the ground. M4 and my M7

Sun setting over the Cascade mountains just before the start of the air show.

Backcountry Oregon style. Headed west to Newport. Over the Cascade Range.

Headed north from Newport. Passing Depoe Bay, Oregon

Back home at TTD

It wasn't Austin, but it wasn't half bad.

Cheers...Rob
