David, we are very lucky here in the NW.

Lets see, so far this year we have had wind storms, floods, and beautiful weather.

Anyone ever passing through, make sure to contact me for a good time.

Cheers...Rob

Last summer I had two F-15's wing tip to wing tip pass underneath me on aproach to Elmendorf AFB. There was no more than 1000' separation. I was in the Merrill segment accross Knik Arm at 2000'. Very cool experience.

LOWFLYBYE,
I was in Memphis Sunday through Tuesday, we stayed in Tuncia.
Left after the snow quit Tuesday. We did not have deice and had to stay under the clouds for about 1.5 hours.
How close are you to Menphis?

I don't have to fly far since I live here. Thought I would share a beautiful day.

I was in Memphis from Friday through Sunday before we headed back to Nashville. It is about 185 miles from Olive Branch (just outside of Memphis) to Lebanon Airport (just outside of Nashville). I used to make it in 1:15 in the C-210 pretty consistanlty, but it is more like 1:45 in the MX7-180. We drove over and back this time since the winds were so bad and the weather was scheduled to roll in on us.

Still a bit cloudy when it comes to aviation insurance? Find some clarity: Clear on Top

The winds would have been a hand full in the Maule. We were lucky, flew dowm in the commander with 40 knots on the tail.
Tunica has a very nice airport. If they would outlaw smoking in the casino's I would visit again..

Rob,
Thanks for starting the thread. I like your flics as well. I am looking forward to the Johnson Creek flyin. I am hoping somewhere a long the way I can get a shot of my freedom bird in the air.
Iv'e seen some of the other avatars in formation flight. It is one of those things to do on my list. The list that just keeps getting longer
It is either something I want to buy or something I want to do :D

It was another perfect flying day in the Bay Area. Every time I fly past this resevoir I think:
I wouldn't want a house below the dam on the Calaveras fault line. What are these guys thinking?
I hope the weather last until tomorrow. I need to fly commercially back east Tuesday for a funeral so the rest of the week is shot.
Enjoy the weather.

Playing with my camera

Post by TomD »

I have been playing with posting videos to share on the web.

Here is one from last July before the fires. It is the overhead approach to Cabin Creek. Video was shot from the right seat and my camera person just pointed the camera straight ahead so there is no cool effects.

PV-GS300 camera.
