Gilliam-Mc Connell Airfield (5NC3) in North carolina Its listed as a private strip on the sectional but they welcome fly in traffic. I stopped there on my way to Moultrie the owner has a restaurant on the field called the Pig n Poke excellent barbecue worth the stop. The airfield was not in my GPS data base so pilotage was required.

The Pick-N-Pig is a must stop...great lunch place. I've lost count of the number of times I've eaten there.

If it's not to late for your planning stop at KFVX usually we have the best fule price, and I know we have the best atmosphere "Airport Bum" friendly. We are right in center of Virginia about half way of your trip
