I may never switch from my 31" tundra tires, although my next set will have the heavier rubber coating.

On 8.50x6 tyre my tests showed a solid 5mph increase when I made fairings for the long gear.
Probably not quite as big a difference on 31" but maybe .

Hi All,
I am looking for ideas on the best way to jack or lift a spring gear Maul to change tires.
I am not apposed to buying what ever tool is needed
Thanks for your help
Gary

I make a sling out of axle straps and us an engine hoist/cherry picker and lift from the engine mount. Always has worked for me

Thanks guys I will try that, I was concerned about the strap marring up the paint. But that sounds like the best approach so I’ll give it a try

I have a Bogert L'il Lifter 3 jack with a custom-made jack plate and pad under the axle that works very well to lift the axle enough to change 31" tundra tires one side at a time. I haven't changed tires on a spring gear Maule but I would think that a hydraulic floor jack with a chunk of 4"x4" on top of the plate would fit nicely under the end of the gear leg and would lift the tire off the ground as long as the jack can raise at least to 16". I would probably route a groove in the 4"x4" to hold the end of the gear leg better.
