Personally, I think they need some design improvements on the C185 so it can effectively compete with the Maule?

M-9-230 DIESEL ??
Recently I studied the renewed website of MauleAir Inc..
A very nice and informative website.
There is only one thing that I cannot find; the development and certification of the M-9-230 Diesel.
On their old website there was a news link that stated "Maule is working hard to achieve certification."
On their new website there is no information at all on the M-9-230 Diesel.
Is Maule still working on the M-9-230 Diesel or did they discontinue this project?

M-9 235
Haven't seen anything on the 235 Lycoming M-9 either. Wonder how many years. Maybe the home builders might come up with something? Maule makes a great plane. I know the FAA is a pain but are they really that slow? I'm sure the economy plays a part. Well all you can do is wait. Think I'll go fly around the lake for a while.

It seems you would have to weigh the difference in cost for fuel and the price you pay for the M9. Perfomance wise, flying over 5500ft and then losing performance with the 260C... Unless you fly commercial and/or alot over 5500ft, it would not be worth it unless the maintainance cost offset the price. Just pondering and I own a M7 260C.
