Post 2000 M4 180-4 wing questions

Post by JerseyJim »

Does anyone know what wing was used on the newer M4 180-V. Length of wing, length of flaps and ailerons? Does it have negative flap? degrees and number of notches positive? Any performance specs? I know only about 10 were made and can’t find much information on them.

Are you talking about the S2/S4 circa 2016-2017 or the actual M4-180V made from 2004-2006?

Is there a difference between them as well? I thought the 2004-2006 M4 180-V was a 2 seat no rear door or baggage door. The 2016-2017 S2 and S4 had the doors but S2 was a 2 seat and S4 was four seat. S2 and S4 production was none or very few.

I understand the the M-4-180V has the MX-7 wings, but shorter by approximately one foot. The total length is also about one foot shorter than the MX-7.
  • Wingspan is 30' 10".
  • Flap deflection degrees: -7, 0, 20, 35
  • Flap length: 9' 1 3/8"
  • Ailerones: 4' 5"
  • Spinner to tail: 22' 7"
  • Gross weight: 2300 lbs
  • Empty weight: ~1400 lbs (mine weighs 1405 lbs).

I own a 2007 M4-180V. It has two seats and 2 doors. No baggage door. I love it, but it is the only Maule that I have owned or flown. The stats that psehorne posted are correct as far as I know. They are right out of the manual.

It is my understanding that the M-4-180V S2 and S4 never came to fruition. None were produced to my knowledge.
