Was given permission from the parental units to take my granddaughter, Scout, for her first flight on the last day of the year.

First video is of her getting buckled in.

Hi wtxdragger.
I'm gran'father like you and wandering with my sons how old is Scout?
She seems happy in the plane with you!

My grand daughter makes a beeline for the hangar when ever they come to visit. The grandsons let her ride up front first but after that it is a serious game of scissors paper and rock for the next leg. They are getting a little big to fit all 4 in the plane at once. So we have started taking just two at a time. They are making radio calls at the local airport and running the iPad and tuning the radios. It is one of the best reasons for me to have a plane.

Scout is 3.

We live in a small town and my son's house is inline with the runway. She has been seeing me flyover since she was born, and been going to the hangar for a year or so. She would sit in the cockpit and fly while I was messing around, so she has been ready for awhile. I had to wait on permission to take her, her other grandparents are not as fond of flying as PawPaw. :D :D

Thanks a lot for this précise answer. It's a Nice story. Scout sas fond of your plane before flying! My 2 grandaughter are 1 year old. And my country strip is behind the country home so. May be they will be ready so early than your Scout...I just wonder if they will not be scared by the Lycoming.s noise. They will hear it just in holidays.
Scout was'not?

Not at all, she's been riding in our Jetboats since she was born almost. I had bought her some Pink Kid headsets from Pilot, but was surprised when her NayNay brought her to the airport, so she had to use a spare I have.

She thought it was really cool that we could talk to each other through the headsets. You can see her listening to me in the full video, even replying to me when I announced on CTAF. She was asking where the other "Aeroplane" was when I called base and final, I was confused about why she was asking me until I watched the video. 8)

Thanks very much to you wtx and captnkirk too for your help. We have now with my sons an example and a way for Alice and Victoire! They also will surely be pleased with the pink kid headset...
Next step during summer holidays!
I shall be glad to post news at this time.
