ANC headsets - hard wired or battery?

I talked to a pilot the other day about this subject and about lightweight headsets also. His opinion is shared by some of you - it sure is nice to have hard wired anr headsets in a plane, but several brands have different plugs and for the most part you are limited to that plane. If it is your plane, do it but have a headset for your buddies plane/other planes you fly. On the lightweight headsets, he said they are really nice - until the batteries die, then they really suck.
