Anchorage Area Ride? (Now with Pics)

Post by gdflys »

I'm flying into Anchorage tomorrow and fly out again on Wednesday. Are there any local Maule flyers around that would like an excuse to go fly? I'll buy the food and fuel. I'd love to see your favorite flying spots.

There are a few Maule Drivers around Anchorage.... So I hope you find somebody. I need to get up to Anchorage from my house....About a 225 mile drive one way So i can continue to plane shop. All sorts of family emergencies ( two family deaths in 7 weeks. ) have stymied my plans.

Well no Maule drivers available so I caught a ride in a local Taylorcraft. It was an absolutely beautiful day. So I’m glad I didn’t miss out on the scenery.

Now begins the process of trying to talk my wife into retiring to Alaska. At the very least I’ll need to fly the Maule back to get flats and skis installed. So that’s at least two trips back.

Beautiful shots! Glad you were able to get up. Sorry none of us could step up while you were here.
You have to make up your mind about growing up and becoming a pilot. You can't do both!

It was great to get up even if I did have to cheat on the Maule family. I’ll be back soon.
