Factory new Long Wing, Long Flap Maule

Post by Isaac »

I just put a deposit down on a factory new long wing m7. Wup Winn of backcountry Connections worked an amazing feat and talked the Factory into building up an M7 exactly to our specs for the ultimate off airport, work horse. It will come from the factory with the longest flaps, long gear, MT prop, 35" bushwheels, no vacuum system and carbon fiber where ever possible. We hope to have it done in time for the AK Airshow and valdez fly in.

I will be selling our current long wing Maule in the spring. It is the best preforming Maule I have ever flown (but we are hoping the new one will be lighter and even better) You can see pictures on our websight and facebook " God's Country Aviation". PM me if you want details on the plane.

Off topic warning

The photo of you and your family on your website is great.
Great shot of your children napping soundly in the Maule.
Understandable smiles on your faces !

Isaac,
Congrats on your new M-7. I have a 1990 M-7-235 on GY 26s with the long wing & long flaps. I can't imagine having any other combination. Yours with the extended gear on 35s ought to be off the chain. I'm in & out of the factory from time to time and look forward to checking it out before it leaves Moultrie.

Why an M7 and not an M9?

235 or 260 hp?

We went with the M7-235 over the m9 because the M9 is to heavy to operate out of the place we use and we wanted the extended oleo gear rather than the spring gear due to the rough strips we land on.

Very nice Isaac!
Good on you Wup and Good on Maule! I think this is a step in the right direction for the factory I'm looking forward to seeing if Maule takes the bull by the horns. Soooo many great mods out there for the Maule, just take a look at "Super Maule" on Wup's sight, backcountryconnection.com, to get a sampling of what can be done.

Sooo, what parts can be carbon fiber? I’m aware of some cowls, wing tips, panels etc that are carbon but non of these are approved technically and need 337’s.

I’m looking at changing out some parts for Carbon but haven’t decided how far to go.

Randy with Carbon concepts has carbon fiber floorboards as minor alterations. That is the route we are pursuing. He also has carbon fiber wing tips as well.

Long wing, long flaps, long gear, MT prop, 35" Bushwheels, no vacuum system, carbon fiber....all great stuff and great performance. You'll love it.

(Sorry, had to go back to dropbox link. Photobucket quit on me.)
