Where to shunt

Trying to figure out the best place to put the ammeter shunt. Have some room on the back of instrument panel on the right side. Have a little less room on the firewall. Guess the question is in front of the firewall or behind it.

I placed the shunt on the firewall. Had plenty of room after the rebuild because I cleaned up the space on the firewall and having it there is easier to work on (install) if needed then under the panel. Just a thought
