I am putting my m7b235 on floats this spring and was wondering what to expect for speed loss? also weight difference from oleo gear with 850s :?:

You should get a 250 pound weight increase to 2750 GW with these floats...check your paperwork. As far as speed, it depends on how much fuel you are willing to burn. I usually cruise around 105 kts at around 14 GPH, but I am almost always heavy. If this is the first time on floats for the plane you may have to spend a little time adjusting the rigging since the water rudders act like trim tabs until you get them just right. I think you will really enjoy the M-7 on these floats...let us all know and best of luck to you!

Thanks for the reply. Do you know what the gear weighs we haven't had it off yet to weigh it yet? I do have the heavy struts so I do get the increase.

According to the Flight Manual Supplement, your gross will be 2750 with the Aqua 2400's.

this is true as long as you have the later model heavy duty struts from aqua. old struts from the late '70's were oval shaped (cross section) and i was told they are not intended for the 2750 GW. the newer style struts are identifiable by there streamlined (airfoil) shaped cross section.

i also cruise around 105 kts at about 22 squared burning between 12.5 and 14 gph.

my useful load is almost exactly the same (900lbs) between aqua 2400's and 31" bushwheels. so you will likely gain some usefull.

3 blade works great for me. 100kts 23 squared 11 gph IO540 - Baumann 2750 Amphibs. I only have 650 lbs useful.
When all else fails... Try again.

My M5-235C has a McCauley 3 Blade on 2400's and it is a great combination.

The extra wing on the M7 will be even better.

I remember I got about 100 mph at about 20" 2200, burn depended on altitude.
