So I was talking with Tim about the empty weight of his latest Maule rebuild... turns out it weighs 1541 lbs. Ouch.

What does your Maule weigh? Configured how?

No, I mean I'm curious what various other planes weigh based on how they're configured.

My M4 with the Franklin and day/night IFR weighed 1383 lbs empty. With the engine swap & stripping it down during the rebuild, I expect to shave 151 lbs off of that. As backpackers say, "Ounces make pounds" and I've been carefully moving forward with that in mind. The W&B will be done next month so we'll see... but if I'm around 1200-1250 I'll be pleased.

So out of curiousity, I'd like to know what other planes weigh. ??

I would guess Franklin and 180hp Maules would have a lower empty weight.

The other piece of the puzzle is the Max Gross and useful.

M5-235C w/ up-gross kit: 2500 lbs Max Gross. 2700 lbs on Aqua 2400's

Jeremy: TomD, that's 2750 lbs on floats.

Yep more than 2700, but my paperwork from Capri shows 2530and unless the upgross gets me an extra 20 lbs on floats we were calculating
2530 + 200 from upgross
