Tiger Moth renovation. Has had same owner past 45 years. He was going to sell it as he could not afford the renovation costs. Some blokes at the airfield suggested he syndicate it, retaining a 50% interest and that is what he has done giving 5 other people the benefit of ownership of an interesting aircraft.

Sorry to hear of your spill from the bike. Back in my father's day in the 40's, when travelling to work on a rickety motor bike in and aroind Taree, he was often called a "temporary Australian." I wonder if that's a term still in use? I'm glad it's a term that doesn't fit for you!

I'd love a bike, myself, but they scare me. I'm probably kidding myself about how much safer I am in the air...

Thanks Brenton...Taree, are you one of us (aussie)? Yes, they still call us temporary aussies. Having the right riding gear improves the odds and I am a huge advocate of the neck brace.

Im afraid I am a displaced Aussie, brought to this God forsaken tundra against my will when I was 5.

I like to claim "invisible foreigner" handicap status whenever I stick my foot in it--no tell tale physical features or distinctive accent to pre-explain and excuse when I lapse into ways that might be characteristic of Australians, but "foreign" for Canadians.

It was the early years in my dad's career as a "sky pilot" that brought him to Taree. By the time I was 5, we were in Sydney when my parents hatched the plan to move to the Canadian prairies.

. . . And the drooling continues!
