That is a beautifully restored Stearman!
You have to make up your mind about growing up and becoming a pilot. You can't do both!

I am also glad you are okay. I am a motorcyclist myself, believe me, I can relate. I hope you have a quick recovery, and get back on a bike again soon. Apparently, not going to be the same one…

The hospital called this morning Doc and they asked me come in as they had reviewed the x-rays taken last week and they needed to put a cast on my hand/wrist. Knew it didn't feel right. Sent me off for Doppler scan too.

Now the dealer has a 2nd hand bike same model year, same colour and with only 17,000km on it for less than my likely pay-out. If I bought it the blokes down the club will just think I washed mine.

I have some more photos to post if you are all interested? Mainly Tiger Moths and other old DH.

post some more photos please, i enjoyed the previous.

saw an airbag vest/jaket locally, that you attach to the bike, as you come off it inflates. might be a consideration for you, not big money either. I will try and find some more info on the inflatable jacket and send it on

That airbag suit is a Ducati item. I have a Ducati, one of the most brilliantly engineered pieces of sculpture in mechanical creation.

Also, Honda makes a variation of the Gold wing with an airbag. I don't know if it has any statistics that have been proven to show that it increases safety or not, but it is an interesting idea. They have been making model for about seven or eight years, I would expect that it's probably save the least a few people in that timeframe.

What kind of bike was it?

Not same class as yours doc, but it does a great many things very well. BMW R1200GS. It can tackle the rough well and when you are back on the tar it can still out-handle many other bikes...well most of the time. ;)

Did I mention the GS is also tough? I rode it another 25km before it began to dawn on me I was plain stupid. I left it at the next servo and had it picked up next day.

I wear a Leatt neck brace and for all the ribbing I get, who knows, it just may have saved my life. The designer is a Sth African doc Chris. I think it is a brilliant piece of protective gear. I wear the carbon model and I don't even realise I have it on.

I should mention that all of these planes are privately owned and get flown regularly.
